I have just got a Sun Ultra 2 machine with Solaris 8. I connected it to my dell router, which I have been using with my windows machines without any problem. What do I need to do to access the sun machine from any of the windows machine on the local network using telnet or ssh.
It is sol8, I also tried on another machine that is running sol10, same problem. The only way I get coredump on sol8 machine is STOP-A AND THEN OK>SYNC.
I checked /var/crash/ernie and there is not core files.
I can do stop A and sync ...and it will does write under /var/crash/ernie. but right now when I do savecore -v .it shows........
[ernie:root] savecore -v
savecore: dump already processed.........I donot now where it is or some body deleted...

Then replaced the HD, but again same error. then HD's backplane changed...again same message about sd2 and now I also see same messages for sd1 and sd4, mostly I get error messages for sd2 every 2 hours and this HD has been replaced...
