58sniper, to be honest with you I'm not sure what I'm dealing with here. I thought that mail was making its way to the information store but I was looking a spotlight on exchange and there's no movement of data at all so that leads me to beleave that the port has been hijacked again. As for...
I need someone to point me in the right direction. It seems the my mail server is receiving mail, but I can't get the client side to pull mail form the server. There is mail in the Queue and the intelligent message filter seems to be doing something at least that's what the counters say and the...

MEAB
58Sniper, I apologize for being so vague... I have been beating my head all day and I think I found a solution. Turns out that the POP3 Service and the IIS service were taking turns hijacking port 25 from the SMTP service.
heres a bit of the solution that I found. Fixed the port issue and...

Fixed the problem.... happen to be a DNS issue, which is weird because DNS was configured properly. The server was a DNS/AD server and was using its own IP for DNS,I know this because I have been configuring DNS servers for 8 freakin years and thats the way you do it!

Thanks for the input... I'll probably end up just getting a cert... I will also make sure that OAB is setup to use certs in IIS.
great advice as always.
thanks,
MEAB
When you install OA can you set it up without having to a certificate. Or even use SSL?
I guess that I could set up IIS to not have to use SSL.
any thoughts would be great.
Thanks,
MEAB

Does Exchange need to be added to AD?
In Exchange 2003 you need to make sure that the server was part of the domain... I know that exchange07 does not use AD directly but uses Active Directory Application Mode (ADAM) should I join the domain or not?
Any advice would be great,
thanks in advance,
MEAB
