I have STP enabled on my switches, but I am not sure if it is optimized correctly. Here is my scenario: 3 stacked 3750 switches, with 7 VLANs. When I run a spanning-tree summary, I show 329 ports forwarding, with 330 ports with STP active. There is only 1 port blocking. When I run spanning-tree...
Nope I verified that the user did log off. I even reset the session. Still problems.
Additionally this does NOT happen when the user logs into a workstation. Only via Terminal Server.
I'm experiencing some problems with user groups staying in cache. I have a test user account that I placed into a Universal Security group. When I log into a workstation with the test account and run a gpresult, I can see the user in the correct groups. However when doing the same thing on a...
Hey all, I'm having some issues with DNS scavenging. We have two DNS servers, with scavenging enabled in the following locations:
Server1:
Server1 > Properties > Advanced > Enable Scavenging
Forward Lookup Zone > Properties > Aging
Server2:
Forward Lookup Zone > Properties > Aging
Even though...
I actually figured it out. For some reason on non-editable accounts, the option to "Allow inheritable permissions" was unchecked. After checking it, all the accounts that were non-editable are working.
Thanks for the help!
Interesting find ELBeast. From that article it shows that protected groups are:
* Enterprise Admins
* Schema Admins
* Domain Admins
* Administrators
However when I checked the non-editable users, none were in a protected group. So frustrating..
I've created a delegation group.. which has been working well. However recently my Helpdesk staff has said they've been unable to reset certian user accounts. Sure enough when I login using an account in the Helpdesk group I also cannot reset certian accounts.
My question is why is this like...
You know I figured it out, but I'm almost too embarrased to say the solution...
Well here goes, please hold your laughter :)
I created a taskpad for the user, and I'm using a test account mirrored to his to test. Since he'll be using the taskpad, I also tested using it. I created a "Move"...
So does this mean that if a user moves a computer to one OU, he cannot move it back?
I have an OU setup with no GPO's assigned to it so that my Helpdesk staff can work on them without having to worry about restrictions of policies. I'd like to have them move the computer to that OU, and once...
Hey all, I'm having some issues with my helpdesk guys not being able to move computers between OU's. Here is how I have my permissions configured:
Computers Container
Full Control: Computer Objects
Create/Delete Computer Objects: This object and all child
Write All Properties: This object and...
Hey all, I'm wanting to delegate some basic AD functions to my Helpdesk users. What would be the best way to go about and do this? I've messed with delegating control in the past and never had much luck. Is there a better/easier way of doing this?
Basically I want to configure a small group of...
Download Packet Tracer by Cisco. It lets you configure multiple virtual devices, including Routers, Switches, Wireless AP's, and more. You can connect them all together, test trunking and VLAN's. Pretty slick, helped me a bunch with my training.
Hi all. I wasn't sure whether or not to post this in the Routers or Switches sub-forum since they do with both. But here goes..
I've got a new project coming up, and I just wanted to bounce some ideas off of the community. In a nutshell, we are getting a new system for one of our departments...
