Tone in handset, no dialtone, caller can't hear

When you have this issue is it from internal extension to internal extension? If not what is your architecture? SCN, SIP, H323, PRI, POTS...? Chris ACA- Implement IP Office

Tone in handset, no dialtone, caller can't hear

I'm pretty sure the 5.xx upgrade is when I stopped seeing this problem. Keep us posted. Chris ACA- Implement IP Office

Tone in handset, no dialtone, caller can't hear

I've had this once or twice and just either resetting the phone or actually power cycling the DS module fixed the problem. If I remember right we had to leave the phone out for a little while for the port to properly reset itself. It hasn't happened enough for me to investigate further. As a...

    Avaya 5621 Issue

Since you have digital sets at the main office all communications goes through the IPO & VCM anyway. Chris ACA- Implement IP Office

    Avaya 5621 Issue

Do you have ip phones on both sites or digital at the main office and just 2 remote ip phones? If you have ip on both sides id be curious to see how direct media path effects the calls. Try both on and off. Chris ACA- Implement IP Office

    Avaya 5621 Issue

The route looks fine. You will notice latency and jitter on phones much more then you will on a computer. I believe the magic number for latency was less than 250ms and with jitter anything less than 100ms can be managed via a jitter buffer. Chris ACA- Implement IP Office

    Avaya 5621 Issue

It could be a problem with one of the connections, a virus on the machine causing network flooding issues. I have had bad printer network cards cause network issues. First well look at the connections and see what we find. Chris ACA- Implement IP Office

    Avaya 5621 Issue

From a windows machine on the remote site go to start > run and type cmd and hit enter. Then type pathping 192.168.42.1 or whatever your ip office address is. Your jitter and latency are pretty high so I am curious if we can find where that is coming from. You can also run a speedtest.net on...

    Avaya 5621 Issue

You can run a pathping to the other site to see where the bottleneck is. What speed is your connection and do you have qos configured? What codec are you using for the phones? Chris ACA- Implement IP Office

    Avaya one-X Mobile

ftp://ftp.avaya.com/incoming/Up1cku9/SoftwarePub/4_2GA_Builds/One-X/One-X_Mobile_IP_Office_Device_Compatibility_List.pdf They show it as compatible, but then show the iEC5xx application as field tested. When companies do things like this it dives me crazy. One-x mobile is a platform anything...

Multi-Tech Fax Finder IPO Partner Edition

Also set the extension as a "Fax Machine Extension" and in the automated attendant configuration there is a FAX option at the bottom. Choose transfer to extension and select your fax machines extension. When the AA detects the fax tone it will transfer the call to your fax finder. Chris ACA-...

Multi-Tech Fax Finder IPO Partner Edition

Is it a dedicated fax number? If so just set up an extension (etr or analog) for the fax finder and just associate just that line to the extension like you would for a fax machine. Same way you would do it on a partner or a legend/magix system. Chris ACA- Implement IP Office

Delay on speech path on SIP

Depending on the IOS version (I think it starts in 12.4) he should be able to export the pcap traces directly from the router to a ftp/tftp/scp server you specify. Then you can open them up directly in wireshark. The trick is to A) get him to agree to it and B) get him to send you a trace with...

    Avaya 5621 Issue

When you set a mask of 255.255.255.255 you are stating that the ip address is a host so you essentially created a route for the host 0.0.0.0 which can't exist anyway. When you create a default route 0.0.0.0 w/ the mask 0.0.0.0 you are saying for any network look at this gateway...

Delay on speech path on SIP

I fully agree. I constantly battled ITSPs and CLECs on things like this. No one ever wants to admit its their problem and tend to look at the surface instead of digging into it to find a solution. Luckily I found an ITSP that works really well with me and it's amazing how fast trouble...

    Time warner cable

I'm confused about your request. Is this one location with SIP trunks running off a Time Warner cable connection or a main office branch office situation? If you can hear their audio but they cannot hear yours I would look at the firewall and also your network topology settings. Chris ACA-...
