(Cross-posting from the cabling forum:)
The jack was terminated incorrectly. The pairs were all correct, but it was a newer jack with a compression cap that is maybe supposed to eliminate the need for punching down the wires, but didn't work in this case. Why it wasn't tested at install I can't...
The jack was terminated incorrectly. The pairs were all correct, but it was a newer jack with a compression cap that is maybe supposed to eliminate the need for punching down the wires, but didn't work in this case. Why it wasn't tested at install I can't say. Anyway, that was the issue. Thanks...
Consensus on the IP Office forum is it's a cable/termination issue. It's definitely not the phone, the other cables, or the IP Office. I'm keeping my service call. I'll update when they've finished for closure.
Pinouts are correct; 5&4, white/blue. I don't know what you mean by putting an analog DT on the pair (I mean I understand theoretically what you mean, but don't know how to go about it), but before I chase that down I'm waiting on some info from the IP Office forum. I've got a call in to the...
Yes (sorry for not replying to that thread yet), the blue pair is on 4/5. The only thing I haven't done is to switch the blue pair to a different pair and test that.
At this point, I've sunk too much time into cable troubleshooting--I'm fine with going ahead with a service call. But if the tech...
I'm having a time trying to add a new phone to our system. (Preface: I don't know phone systems; this is beyond my expertise by a long shot. I muddle through as I can.)
I've added a new 700476013 to the system and it works correctly. I've got a jack that has never been used before, but has been...
They're digital. I posted here because I'm pretty sure it's a cabling issue; the unit itself is working properly. The (to the best of my knowledge) problem is isolated to this cable.
I'm trying to troubleshoot a bad phone line and I'd like to know if I've tracked down the problem.
The situation is that I'm adding a phone to an office that was cabled 3 years ago with the rest of the office. At no point has this line been in use before trying to add this new phone. The phone...
Wait--have I misunderstood this? Are we saying I can't have a COMBO6210/ATM4 and 2 DIGSTA8 cards? I understood this was possible as only one is a combo card.
At this point, the system's upgraded and recognizing the new card, but I still just get the 'status ok' led flashing. Not sure where to...
So maybe I'm missing something--I powered down, unplugged, installed the card, rebooted, and the card is getting power and is recognized. But I can't seem to use it--the first led on port 1 flashes red, and that's all I can get it to do. Plugging in a line (to any port) seems to do nothing. What...
