NTFS Permissions on Local Machine under Domain Account

Get a test PC with everything on it. Create a test user who is the lowest of the low permissions wise (dont give it anything except logon rights). Launch every application as this user and find out what you need to run. Group policy those permissions to either all users or the users that need...

4 CPUs but with no enhancement

Not unless you originally installed a single proc version of windows (ie different HAL) other than that it just works when you plug a cpu in.

4 CPUs but with no enhancement

Yea it definately points to the antivirus or interrupts (possibly caused by AV). I will be honest with you I have never used trend micro before and I cannot be of that much help with it. Since AV is currently disabled have you tried uninstalling trend micro to see if you regain your performance...

    File copy utility

Robocopy is the shizzle. Although powershell is an amazingly powerful utility for admin tasks such as this.

4 CPUs but with no enhancement

What OS ? What applications are you running ? What AV are you running ? Have you configured the power options in the bios correctly ? Are the applications you are using actually capable of running on multiple CPU's ? Is a particular CPU/Core taking all of the load while the rest are idle ...

    Citrix load evaluators

My recommendation is to scratch the current load evaluator and make a new one. Go with CPU 90%, RAM 80-90% and context switches of around 14-18 thousand per core. See how it goes. Also carefully observe the performance of the interrupts and context switches on the VM's sometimes these can...

How to prevent IT staff access sensitive folder in windows 2003 server

I agree with 58sniper but if you need a workaround and your staff are using domain admin logins remove domain admin and leave enterprise admin, leave yourself and the users who need access to the files access. Not recommended but it works.

    no password required

I second that, go the distance setup a domain. Do it properly, that way when you have a need to expand or change it will make your life a lot easier. And plus if its a small setup you can run around with a domain admin login and feel like god compared to your lesser priveliged peons ;)

    Server load balancing

Yes there is you will need to configure advanced load balancing. If you right click on the application or server (I personally load balance by server but different environments have different requirements) you can choose to load balance by using advanced settings. This will allow you to load...

    SIP Route IDC Table

Hi all, I am back again to raid the depth of knowledge that is Tek-Tips. I would like to know if it is possible to have a IDC table on an incoming SIP route, the reason for this is that we use DNIS to present the name of our stores for a divert project. We are looking at using a VOIP provider...
