    SAN boot Linux with MPIO

Thanks, I have it working with RHEL 5.2. Fun stuff.

    SAN boot Linux with MPIO

Well, it works great. Multipathing in bios and multipathing in the OS. I can fail either path at any point in POST or OS and it fails over. fail back is instant. Load balancing is round-robbin. SAN boot with MPIO works in CentOS 5.2 out of the box.

    SAN boot Linux with MPIO

Has anyone had success with SAN booting using MPIO? I am able to SAN boot with a Dell/Q logic/Brocade/EMC solution Running CentOS5.2. I have configured DM. I am not able to MPIO yet. Does anyone know if it is possible to pull this off?

    qla2342

Hi, I was wondering if anyone has the original driver cd for the Qlogic qla2342 card. we are trying to connect a PowerEdge 1650 in a SAN environment, and even though everthing is properly configured, the server won't receive shares. So far, we've tried both San surfer and drivers from the...

    FC4700 SP swap

Too big of a step in Flare Revs. I backed up and re-initialized the PSM.

    FC4700 SP swap

The PSM will roll the SP's back to the BASE that that was used when the PSM was initialized.

    FC4700 SP swap

If I have a FC4700-2 up and running, then I swap both SP's to ones that have a newer flare. Will the PSM hold the old config or do I have to reinitialize the SAN? How long should I wait before giving up?

    Upgrade FC4700-1 to FC4700-2

It works. Base must be 8.43 or higher and 2G cards installed. I used CLI with the "spportspeed" command. Talks at 2G now.

FC4700 - Commit of Base failed

Navisphere 5.3 may be too old to work with that Base Rev. If you have the CLI and a serial dialup to the SP, First try to commit the Base with the "navicli -h 192.168.1.1 ndu -commit Base" command. If that does not do it, then try "navicli -h 192.168.1.1 initializearray -createpsm". If you do a...

FC4700 - Commit of Base failed

What is the syntax you used? What is the BASE rev you are trying to put on? What is the drive size and speed you used for the PSM? Do you want to reinitialize the PSM?

    Initializing a FC4700

My Navisphere 6.6 was too new to talk to Flare 8.42. I was able to initialize the FC4700 using NaviCLI. I'm looking at my other SP's to see if a newer Flare is on them.

    Initializing a FC4700

I have a used FC4700. I can connect PPP via serial cable. I can also get it to a K10 prompt in Hyperterm. When connected via serial I get 192.168.1.2 and I can ping 192.168.1.1. I have NaviCLI software. I have the management UI 6.6.0.3.6. When I point a browser to 192.168.1.1 either on the...

    Upgrade FC4700-1 to FC4700-2

I have a FC4700-1 and would like to upgrade it to FC4700-2. I have the correct 2GB HBA's to install. Does anyone have experience with doing this?
