Thanks Mrdenny.
We use Microsoft Select licensing, so I can just decide whether I want to use per processor or per cal.
Thanks guys.

yes it is.
assuming your using IIS, you need to create a virtual folder with the same name as the users login name and point this to the home folder.
Scott.
Hi Guys,
I have a SQL 2005 installation that I've inherited.
Could someone please tell me how to confirm the method of licensing used. ie per processor or per user. If per user I also need to know how many cals there are.
It doesn't seem to work the same way as 2000 and so I'm a little stuck...
Well in an ideal world you'd never use it. But the point is it's there should you need it - it's an insurance.
And yeah, you will need to bring the system down to replace the bad drive but you'll be able to choose when you do it.
Which controller do you have?

Don't forget GPO's are applied in the following order......
Local / Domain / Site / OU / Child OU / etc

How did you install the HP software on the TS? Did you do it from a terminal Session or while at the console?

or instead of going Hot Swappable you should be able to add a hot-spare.
Then in the event you lose a drive, you wouldn't need to bring the system down.

Its available on both,

mrdenny is right. Domain based DFS will do exactly what you want.
you'll end up with a path like
\\domainname\sharename
but it will point to multiple targets like
\\server1\share
\\server2\share

Taken from my post yesterday shows how to seize the roles.

You can seize the roles, The link I supplied earlier shows how to do this.
Although, you probably won't notice the lack of these 2 roles until you either try to extend the schema or create a child domain.
Somebody please correct me if I'm wrong on this.

What you need to use is REPLMON,
Have a look here

The TS was a member of the SBS domain, then dcpromo'd to make it a DC.
There is no restriction with SBS on the number of Domain controllers.
However, it's not really a good idea to have your TS as a DC. (though I'm sure someone will disagree with me :-))

First thing to do is track down which server holds the FSMO Roles.
http://support.microsoft.com/?id=234790
Then, if your old server1 held the fsmo's you should make sure it is not now named the same as it was before.
Run DCpromo on your fresh install of win 2003.
then if neseccary, seize the...
If there is only one domain, and no trusts with other domains, then making the Infra Master a GC will not be an issue.

You should configure it on the PDC Emulator, not just any DC, and all others will look to this for time synchonisation.
