Figured this one out by purchasing Sun 530-3100 DB9 to RJ45 Serial Port Adapter, and connecting to the Serial Mgmt port with Cat5 and RJ45. -

I'm having the same exact problem, and created a similar post a week/two ago. I just purchased a new null modem cable to make sure i have a good cable. Do I need a special cable specifically made for sun? -

I had a serial cable that I believed was a null modem cable. I purchased a new one to be sure, and I'm still having the same problem. An extra measure of testing, I've power cycled the machine with the drives out. I'm still unable to see a console on this machine. What can I try next? -
