I am new in this industry and learn

go to your most experienced tech and ask him to ride along and help, if he doesn't feel like you're trying to steal his job but help him do his job better he will start to explain what hes doing and how long it takes to do certain things. Its not a one day thing, keep doing it when you can. Some...

SIP DECT D100 on Essential 10.1

I'm having some trouble with a SIP Dect on an IPO. I know they are terrible for having issues. The configs have been looked over by 4 different techs including myself and support outlets and we all see it as being correct. The license is in place, the line is SIP Dect, the extension is SIP...

AT&T multiline consumer phones/over sensitive speakers?

Speakerphone operation should have nothing to do with the phone line or line quality except static or noise. Almost all speakers on analog phones are 1 way and even if they claim to be 2 way they’re really not. There is a reason polycomm is still around. The volume of the call itself in one room...

    Ethernet identification

Has anyone ever seen a tester/detector that can identify if the device on the other end of the link is a pc or a switch? I’ve gotta think that there is some kind of layer 3 info that identifies the link. I know it seems kinda odd but I’ve got a site with some 16 or so switches used to cover over...

    Audio over IP.

cheap way, not I'm sure the best way, but look at valcom VIP solutions, one unit receives the audio and xmits over network to receiving unit that translates to whatever its meant to do.

    Move smart jack

my reply was from my experience in the southern US, should have clarified that. And while it does take a lot to attract bad legal attention to this, if you get the wrong tech on a day that hes not in a good mood then yes I've seen it happen.

    Old copper wiring plant issues

Everyone is quick to blame cable and tests to say hey this wont work. Truth is copper is copper, if not corrupted by outside elements, ie water, emi, or excessive distance(2300 ft is excessive) then its fine, Its when we expect something to do something that it wasn't designed for that bad...

    Message delivery delay

everything above is correct, however is 20+ years this is the most common vm complaint. In the end delayed vm delivery that cant be traced to improper programming means get ready to deal with it or replace system, you are on a limited time basis for it to continue to work. That may be from today...

not to butt in on this but you have a nurses station that needs to take calls and msgs with 1 cordless and 2 digital sets. send all calls to the analog and set cfwd no ans to vm. set cfwd busy to the lowest # digital set. set an answer dn on digital set 1 for the analog, and on the second...

I'm not sure how to undo this!

the other Moore is right, find an experienced vendor to help you understand what's happening however all 3 phones ring because they are programmed to, and the message is taken in the lowest numbered extension that has a mailbox and has cfwd no answer to the vm dn set. Nothing is random in phone...
