I Have a Partner ACS V7 that is set up for all calls to go the Auto Attendant. When a caller eslects a selector code to be transferred to an extension and that extension has DND on the call routes to the cover operator. Inside callers that call that extension (when in DND) get the voice mail which is the desired end result for all calls. Does someone know what I can do for all calls to go the Voice mail instead of the cover operator?

You need to go into system programming, #310 and turn on VMSCOVER for the extension in question.

Hi avayagirl,
quantumleapcomm19 has autovms cover enabled. Internal callers are getting the vm.

quantumleapcomm19,
Try to turn the power off, then back on. You have a funny fault. I need to go out to an R7 installation this Wednesday. I will try to replicate your fault. Sorry, this place is over an hour away or I'd try it sooner.
If you are not using an Avaya voice mail product, then TTT has a very valid question. You may have integration problems.

Yeah, but he says that internal intercom calls to an extension in DND cover to voice mail properly, but calls transferred from the Auto Attendant do not!

That's why I said you have a valid question. I'd like to see what's going on since my curiousity is peaked.

Hey Chris - we must have been posting at the same time, as I was replying to avayagirl's suggestion to check the Auto VMS Cover.

If it's NOT an Avaya voice mail, it may be trying to do a supervised transfer, and not getting an answer, transferring to the operator instead of going to voice mail. It's always better to use blind transfers and let the Partner handle the calls, as it's designed to do.

There are compatibility issues with ACS R7 and Partner Mail VS. The DND problem that is discribed is one of the problems. Avaya will not support the Partner Mail Vs R3 or R4 at all but will provide the patch for the VS R5.

Interesting - do you have a link? I was not able to find anything on the support or business partner site.

Is this something similar to Card Mail when transferring to a station in DND while the other VM port is busy?

Hi TTT,
The wonders of communication! I thought your post was strange if it related to mine.

1043,
I haven't seen the patch yet either. It is very likely to replace an older R3 with an R7 with a VS 5 in the carrier. If you know, can you point me as well? This would be very embarrasing to run into.

-Chris

Patch is only available through Avaya Tech support. Have your Avaya dealer jump through the hoops and Avaya will send you the flash card. (If you don't have the highest release for the VS 5) I forget the the release numbers for the VS 5 but will post them If I ever get back to the office.

The highest version(that I know of) for the Partner Mail VS R5 is 20. You need to get Avaya Tech Support involved with this to resolve the problem. Press 7 instead of 9 when you log into Admin in your voicemail and it will tell you the version. I have notes dating back to November with people having the DND problem. Hope this helps!

I'm new to this board and I'm a "End-User" trying to figure this problem out. I just upgraded to the ACS R7 from a ACS R2.0 and have Partner Mail VS4.01. This problem has been bothering me for a couple of days now. I want to be able to push my DND button when I'm not at my desk and have my calls transfered from the AA go directly to my voice mail. According to 1043, this is not possible with my set up because the Mail VS4.01 is not supported? Is there anything I can do without spending major bucks? Can someone give me some direction? Thanks in advance.

If you bought from a dealer that knew you had a VS4, they may exchange it for an ACS 6. That would work no problem.
-Chris

Just went through the process for the VS5 patch. Good news is that Avaya admits there is a problem with the ACS R7 and Partner Mail VS R5 and are providing a fix. The bad news is that you need an ACS R6 to do the fix. (very similar to the T-1 patch).

Now that's just plain ugly. Avaya needs to work on patching with the R7. Just can't win, can we?
