When I start my system and after everything is operational, what appears to be my wall paper changes to blue and indicating that I have spyware on my system. When I click on the screen it then launches my web browers and to a spceific web site listing spyware software solutions. Apperently it is some sort of a spyware itself. The problem is I can not figure out were it is being kept so I can remove it. Any ideas?

My system is Windows XP SP2 on a HP 6746c.

It is a virus - spamYou probably you cannot even right click on the screen so make a bootable to ntfs floppy disk.
then go to 'C:\WINDOWS\Offline Web Pages' and delete all entries there.

It is the Active Destop on top of everything thats why you cannot access your screen. And the page probably lays there in that folser.

I fixed this before by deleting all entries in that folder.

Hope it will work. If it does then install a good firewall.

Now that I got rid of all of the spyware stuff I have my computer back. However, my system or windows screen still contains a HTML page that won't go away. I have been able to delete all of the garbage that was in the intrusive message but I can't get rid of the page it self. What can I do?

Do you have a Html Page selected in Display Properties/ Desktop/ Customize Desktop/ Web?

If so unselect it and reset your Wallpaper from the General Tab of Desktop.
