Hey all,

I have a .mde FE I need to edit. I have the database just fine, but need to edit the forms. We do not have the original design FE either. :( What can I do? Would I be able to import/export all the objects over and edit it somehow maybe... or??? Please don't tell me i'm out of luck!!

Hueby,

Your not going to want to here this, but there is NO way to retrieve code from an MDE. Someone has created a tool (I have it and is does not always work) and it will allow you to extract form and reports (but NOT the code behind them). Please review this link and if you wish search this site (answer will still be the same).[cry]

I wish you luck...

Thank you HiTechUser for the up front answer. :(

Items like MDE Designer only get you back the forms with controls. No code is available behind the forms so you can move them around. You can't even add a new button with your own code (at least I couldn't with their demo product).

Moral: Don't lose your .mdb's

Hueby, in an MDE the code IS LOST, dot.
Find the original MDB or recode the app.
