I am confused. I can't figure out why Windows Explorer will sometimes allow you to view picture files using a filmstrip and other times will not.

What are the controlling factors for filstrip display?

Thank you in advance.

I checked my settings and the option suggested is already active in my folders. Any other tips out there that I might try?

Thank you for the help.

You need to set a folder customization.

Right-click the folder and select Properties from the context menu.
Select the Customize tab.
Under "Use this folder type as a template:", select either Photo Album or Pictures and click OK.
From the Windows Explorer View menu, select Filmstrip to view the pictures from within the selected folder.

Aloha bcastner,

Your tip did the trick. I'm still not sure why the view will sometimes (and sometimes not) allow for filmstrip but the tip you gave has solved my problem.

I appreciate the help.
