We have two databases, dev and prod.
I created publik link on dev, COM_PROD.
Still when i use desc myTable@COM_PROD, it gives description of myTable on development server.
What could be wrong?

Thanks.

Does the user doing the describe have a private database link with a different set up. Have a look in sys.dba_db_links and see if the user names/passwords and connect strings are set up correctly.

in dba_db_links:
OWNER DB_LINK USERNAME HOST CREATED
PUBLIC COM_PROD prod 11-OCT-04

1. Are you sure the table on production is different than the one on development?

2. I assume the production myTable is not really a view based on the development table? I know, it sounds ridiculous, but let's exclude it right away!
