Hi i'm happily running Photoshop 7.0, but i am thinking of upgrading to CS. I'd like to know what are the greatest improvements in CS, and what are the most useful new features. If i was to pick one thing i find most limiting about Photoshop 7.0 it's the shape drawing tools. I know this is not what Photoshop is for, but i'd like to know if CS has more options availble for shapes, such as shapes with borders and fills or no fills etc.

I mainly use Phtoshop for creating web page graphics and for my own artwork using photos combined with scans of hand drawn images.

I find a lot of the new tools useful, I've used 2 of them today. The first being the 'type on a path' tool, which now spares me the effort of having to switch between illustrator and photoshop. The second being the layer comps panel, which I've been using to design a nav bar.

As I've also just bought a Nikon D70 digital camera, the ability to process raw images without an extra plugin will be paying off soon.

You really need to way up if these little advantages would be worth you shelling out for the upgrade, but I'm certainly glad I did.

As for the shape tools, I certainly haven't noticed any extra functions, but it's not a part of photoshop I use very much so it's quite possible I've missed something new.
