How do I get the dots to appear between the headings and the page numbers?

You set it up on the reference page. Use the following pages in the appropriate user guide for help.

Frame 7 - p. 360

Frame 6 - p. 352

Frame 5.5 - p. 326

Thanks for responding. The FM 7 User Guide has Chapter-page number format for page numbering (e.g., 12-5).

Are you referring to a different manual?

Really? That's weird. Is your guide for 7.0 or 7.1? Mine's 7.0.

Look up "tab leader dots" in the index. That's how I found the info in all three guides.

I'm not sure what you mean by the path. I'm talking about the user's guide that ships with FrameMaker.

Click on the TOC paragrapgh tag.
Open the Paragraph Designer (Ctrl + M on Windows)
Tick the Tab Stops check box.
Click the Edit button
Put a new position in the box for the far right of the page - you may have to play about with this depending on page width etc.
Choose the alignment (I prefer Decimal)and Leader
Once you are happy, click Continue. The tab stop should show up in the paragraph designer.

Repeat for each TOC paragraph tag (H1, H2 etc)

Now choose the Reference pages view and find the tags like these: These should be located on the last page in this view

'<$paratext><$pagenum>'

If you put your cursor in the middle of the paratext tag you will see the TOC Paragragh tag associated with it show up next to the Flow description at the bottom of the screen.

Place your cursor between the paratext and pagenum tags and hit the tab key. You'll see the leader and the pagenum tag will move to the far right.

Save the file.

Go back to Body Pages view and you'll see the TOC as you wanted. Everytime you now update the TOC, the Heading and Page number will be inserted as you set up with the dots.
