Where in the world do Tek-Tips members come from?

Intel (R) Pro 100 82562EZ on-board chip, ASUS P4P800-VM mb. DOS??

I am trying to use the E100B.DOS driver with MS Client v3.0 and also with PowerQuest to make a bootable network disk.  Cannot get it to work...  During the making of the boot disk, MS Client says that E100B.DOS is not a recognised driver.  I've tried editing the appropriate .INI files, but when both MS Client and PowerQuest disk are booted from, they report that the on-board NIC "cannot be found".  Network is enabled on the motherboard, and works fine in Windows with the appropriate driver.

If I insert an Intel PCI NIC which has an 82550EY chipset, disable the on-board NIC, this works fine.

Any clues please???

ROGER - G0AOZ.
