[HELP] WITH A OLD IBM 300PL P2 ?

I am trying to fix this old lady pc, her son upgraded it to win 2000 pro. But some how he for got username and password when loggin on to windows. I am trying to reinstall win 2000 , BUT I can't get the Pc to boot from cd rom. I hit F1 take me to Bios tryed to reconfig. but I must be doing something wrong.

she say she don't know her username and password. which her son did a boo boo some where when he installed win2000 pro. So I say I would try and reinstall win2000 for her. but i'm having trouble booting from cd rom.

Can anyone give me info on what you think the problem?
