Hi,
We are re-engineering a huge AS/400 application, as part of this we are segregating objects into different applications (Ex: order processing, EDI, inventory etc..) Is there any way we can attach an application name to each objects. Our configuration management tool is Aldon. In Aldon GROUP, APPLICATION, RELEASE are already occupied with one level up in the hirarchy as we have so many surround applications. Is there any other place where we can store application name so that it can be retained even when object is recompiled. Please respond if you need more info.

I did somethng similar with physical files.  I did it external to the system in a separate file.  I defined the files are transactional and master (and a few others).  A job runs and adds missing files to this file and flags the new files as master.  This file is used in a data refresh process for the test databases.  Master files are copied from production; transaction files are cleared.

Or you could add a code to the description of the object

Thanks, I think changing object description is the best solution for now.
I am wondering if it could be possible, in the ALDON CMS tool, to add a property against an object so that we can sort objects by category any time.
Any idea?
