I've been using BillPowers Referencing code to automate deployed referencing thread181-437632 but whilst the code works fine on my machine - even when I remove some references. When I deploy my Database onto a foreign machine I'm getting errors in calling basic functions such as MID RIGHT LEFT. All part of VBA.STRINGS

Can anyone shed any light please ??

Hi solo7,

Have you downloaded the example from
Because this routine was rolled out in dribs and drabs, the full "working" code is available in the file calledAutomatedReferencing.zip

If you have already tried the download can you send me a zipped copy of your db, removing any sensitive data first.

The posted version initially doesn't make any calls other than to the standard libraries VBA and Access, so hopefully your problem will be pretty obvious once I've viewed your db.

Hi Solo,

Thanks for the DB.

I thought it would be something simple.
=====================================

Function SearchForReferencesFileLocation()
On Error GoTo Err_SearchForReferencesFileLocation
Dim strDirectory As String 'add this line to your code

=====================================
Dim strDirectory As String is missing from the above function. Other than that, you really got the hang of this routine, well done.

All the best

Bill
