Users not able to log on

We run SharePoint Team Services on a Win2K Pro PC and users are reporting that they can not log onto the website. It asks them to enter username , password, and DOMAIN. They do all that and still they cannot log in to the web site.

I know it must be a security problem as if I was to give them administrator access they can log in.

Is it because it is running on Windows 2000 Pro instead of Server?

Please help me with this one.
