Newbie here who is having problems conducting full text searches.  It used to work in the past - not sure what changed to break it.  When a search is done no results are shown - it's like nothing was found although there are
many documents which should have been returned as results.  We have no problems uploading/adding new documents to our document library, but cannot conduct searches.

Using the gthrlog.vbs tool to go thru my gatherer logs revealed many of the following:  "4/8/2003 12:56:02 PM  .\backofficestorage\localhost\SharePointPortalServer\APPLICATIONS\HealthPolicy\ Add  Error fetching URL,(80040d77 - The property list for the content class of this document cannot be loaded, and the schema cannot be accessed; Make sure the schema is correctly configured.  )"

My Application log is full of similar messages about the "schema cannot be accessed" and "crawling cannot continue, because the local server is not responding.  Restart the Exchange store. (0x80040d79)".  I've restarted the entire server as well and the Exchange Info Store service, the MS Search service, the Sharepoint service, etc.

Any ideas?  I'm getting desperate here.....

I just ended up restoring from a previous backup, and that fixed it...  Sorry, no more info.

Look the file search.idq in the  _vti_script subdirectory for your website.  Look at the CIScope line and verify that it's pointing the correct site, i.e. OWS_Vroot_1 (1 being your site number.)  To verify your site number, go to the logging portion on the web site tab in IIS.   Should see the example like W3SVC1xxxx.log
