Hyperlink tab (Format Editor)
Use this tab to create a hyperlink to a web site, a field value, an e-mail address, a file, or another Crystal Reports file. The hyperlink is saved with your report and is available to other users as a way of viewing additional information.

Note: If you create a hyperlink to another Crystal Reports file, you are creating an on-demand subreport. Just as one subreport cannot contain another subreport, you cannot create a hyperlink between two subreports.

Hyperlink type (Hyperlink tab/Format Editor)

Click the type of hyperlink you want to create. The available types are:

No hyperlink
A web site on the Internet
Current field value
An e-mail address
A file
Another Crystal report file.
Hints about how to use each of these options are provided on the bottom of the tab in the Helpful Hints section.

Note: Not all hyperlink types are available at all times. The object you select and its location on the report determine which types are available.

Hyperlink Information
Use this section of the tab to enter the appropriate hyperlink information (the URL of a web site, for example). Hyperlink information is available for all Hyperlink types except No hyperlink and Current field value.

Browse
Use Browse to search for files using the Open dialog box. Browse is available only for A file and Another Crystal report file.

Helpful Hint
Use these hints to learn how each Hyperlink type works and what it will add to your report.

Hi , thanks for the help .
I want to know how to use the Text Interpretation in Crystal reports to make a Hyper link.

I have the following line on the Formual field.

&quot;<A HREF=&quot; + &quot; + &quot;>Yahoo </A>&quot;

This formula filed in insterted into a text object along with other text , and changed the Text interpretation to HTML for the Formual filed.

It doesn't work. Any help, please..

I don't think it makes sense for that semi-colon to be there. But, I think you'll find that the solution offered by ndp is the way to go. Is there some reason why you can't do this?

Naith

Hi Naith, there is no semi-colon, that was my typo error.

Crystal reports Vs 8 +, allows to Hyperlink the full object and not a part of the String , and I am trying to achieve this ..

Thanks for the quick response.

Additionally, if you insert an active object into a text field, you will not be able to activate the field from inside the text box, as any clicking on the field assumes the attributes of the text box itself.

Naith

But you can still change the some properties of the Object placed iinside the text object, like the Text intepretation..

Yes, but that's for formatting, rather than interactive activation - like hyperlink clicking. You'll note in designer, you'll need to click the field more than once in order to define the components within a text box.

Can you not place your hardcoded string in one field, and place it next to another field which only has the URL in it. Then activate the URL field according to ndp's post. Is that not an option?

Naith

Yes, I have tried it, but when I print it to a PDF , the formatting has changed and there is a lot of spaces in it.

I am getting som ething like this

You can find your query at , or bla bal .

Sure, I see where you're coming from, but you'll probably find that you have to do this:

&quot; You can find your query at &quot; right justified in a text box or in a formula. Use a right hand margin on the field.

In your URL formula; &quot; turn on the hyperlink, and align it's left side to the other field's right hand margin.

So, on export to pdf, it should appear to be:

Code:
You can find your query at

Naith

Hi , Thanks for the help,

I have a text on both sides of the Hyeprlink.

&quot; You can find your query at &quot; is Left Justified,
The Url is left justfied,
and other String is also left justified .

Along the same lines. If you use hyperlink to bring in another crystal report- How dow you remove the RPT extension that appears?

Figured out my own problem...In version 9.0 you can re-name the subreport. In version 8.5, in order to NOT have the rpt extension you use the Insert subreport, Create Subreport, type the subreport name. Can you belive that took all of 3 hours to figure out??!!
