Is your winword.exe in the usual place ie C:\Program Files\Microsoft Office\Office\Winword.exe? Is winword.exe in the Task list before you attempt this or after the message appears?

or if you have installed and removed some software recently, try re-installing it to see if that resolves your problem.

For Tech Flunky: Winword is in default directory and I have tried opening word prior to opening Outlook and leaving it closed... with no joy.

For BeerHunter2: Unfortunately neither article helped.

I can think of two possiblitites. The e-mail.dot file possibly is not in the correct directory or possibly corrupted. (It should be under C:\Program Files\Microsoft Office\Office\1033).

Or that your frmcache.dat file may be bad and should be replaced with a fresh copy.

Is 'Word is either busy or cannot be found' the entire error message you get, or is there more?

Message is
This form requires Word as your email editor but word is either busy or cannot be found. The form will be opened with Outlook editor instead.
