I have an ACS 3.0 with one of these remote access backup cards that is supposed to let me dial in using the software (Partner ACS Remote Administration) and make backups to my PC and or make changes to the configuration.

I tried both by AutoAttendant and By Operator Assisted.  The backup card is on extension 76, and I added it to hunt group 1 (or 771).  

WHen I call in on the autoattendant method, the system answers, the call is transfered to the backup card but i fail to establish a connection.  The baud rate that I establish is 4800.  I am using a Lucent WinModem that works fine for just about everything.  The manual for the software says you must connect at least 9600.

So I tried using the operater assisted method, same problem, I can't get in.

I am doing this all in my shop, just testing it out before It gets installed.

What am I doing wrong?  

Under Modems in my wIN98PC, the connect speed is all the way up to 115K.

Make sure your ACS is R3.0 by dialing Feature 59 from any display phone.  Your Partner Remote software may not be the correct version for your ACS.

Have you tried connecting your modem to a Partner station port, set the auto line selection to pickup intercom first, and then dial extension 76 to see if you can connect this way?

Also you have to make a pasword before it will work #730.  There was a post about remote programming a while ago, do an advance search and you will find it.  It was at least 35 posts and got pretty in depth with connection issues.

Knock your baud rate down to 1200 and connect. It has consistantly been found that this is the speed to connect at for problematic connections. Bump it up a notch at a time afterward to find your fastest robust connection speed for this location.

You may be able to autorange down from 14400, but 115K is way out of the park.

Once connected properly, you'll get a password entry box. You'll get the box regardless of the password being entered in #730 or not. If you've not set one under #730 you can enter anything but never get in. Once set, do a #124 to save the password to the translation image.

And, BTW, make sure you do a #989CLEAR before installing that puppy or doing any programming! A frigid start/default is absolutely required before doing anything!
