Parner Mail Upgrade Problem. Help before I kill it!

I'm trying to apply a Mail VS upgrade card 4 ports 20 mailboxes to a Partner mail 3.0 on a partner II 4.0 system.

I power down, insert the card, power back up and  notice that incomming calls ring on 2 lines at the same time.  Bizzare!!  Can any one help?  I have tried two cards with the same results.

Sounds like you need to program the additional port(s) into hunt group 7.

I never made it that far since incomming calls would show up on two line buttons at the same time.  Is this consistent with what you are recomending?  Thanks for the help.

You need to remove ringing from the new vmail ports BEFORE upgrading the vmail. Then you can add to the hunt group, etc. Ringing multiple ports at the same time on a device programmed to answer on the first ring will confuse it every time.

The 4 port x 20 mailbox upgrade PCMCIA card cannot be used with the Partner VS R3.0 mial module as it only has capacity for 2 ports x 20 mailboxes.  The 4 x PCMCIA cards can only be used in the Partner VS R4.0/4.1 mail mods.

If you have the Partner Mail R3.0 standalone, the 4 x 20 PC Card won't work for an upgrade as the Partner Mail R3.0 needs an additional internal Brooktrout 2 port voice card to get an additional 2 port addon to your VM system.
