On-demand Scan will not show the GUI (epo 2.5)

Hi,

Just spoken to NAI technical support and they tell me that as a "feature" the on demand scan (VS451 SP1) cannot be seen by the users.

With Management Edition the good thing was that if I scheduled a scan on all my users machines it showed the scan display on the users machine and should the need be there the user could stop the scan. This was particulatly useful if they were giving a presentation.

Is it true that with EPO 2.5 the users cannot see an EPO controlled virus scan?

Cheers

James

Hi James-

With epo 2.5 you have the option of allowing your clients to disable the scan but the choice is basically yours. You can also choose either to hide the Vshield icon or to have it on the tasbar- I sometimes prefer to disallow some of our users from fiddling with anything and therefore best to simply hide it. I find ePo 2.5 to be fairly flexible in this regard- it helps to have an organised Directory structure to begin with.

hope this helps
Charlotte
