I have a button dialer which I plan to connect to an analogue handset port on my IP Office. When the button is pushed and the programmed extension is dialed, I want to send a pre-recorded message ("We need a receiver to receiving please") to the pager extension.

New IP user asking for advice on best way to approach this.

Voicemail Pro Client Version 9.1.3.0 Build 2. IP Office version 9.1.3.0 Build 120.

Have your dialer dial a short code that points to a VM Pro Post dial action that send the wav file to an other short code that does the paging. The short code for paging can not have special characters in it, the system won't treat it like an extension and won't send the wav if you use some thing like *80.

SC: 880
Feature: Voicemail Node
Telephone Number: (name of VM Pro Destination)

SC:888
Feature: Dial Paging
Telephone Number: (page group or ext)

It will probably make more sense once you check out the post dial action.

Thank you budbyrd! I used this approach and it works. I entered SC 80 (my system allows only 2 character short codes) in Manager, feature voicemail node, name PageRcvg. Then in VM Pro added SC named PageRcvg, added and connected post dial action, specific tab selected Post wav file to ext 88. In Manager SC 88 set to Dial Page to page group. Thank you for your help!

More than welcome. We use that method for for everything from emergency evac notification to school time tones. [thumbsup2]
