I don't know if anyone is aware, but just like the Partner System - the Basic Mode does have a wake up service feature. The Essential Edition mode, however, does not. Has anyone had any experience with replicating this feature in essential? I imagine it could be done in VM Pro somehow although I'm not sure how that module would look.

Make a short code that guests can dial from their rooms, such as 600, Voicemail Collect, "WakeUpForGuest"

Make another short code that only the hotel staff can dial, such as *699 (put it in their User Short Codes), Voicemail Collect, "WakeUpForFrontDesk"

Absolutely perfect information. Thanks for posting - Star for you!

If I remember correctly, it can only do two alarms at once, meaning the 3rd and 4th and so on will be delayed. Imagine a hotel full of 6AM wake ups, but 99% get it at 6:05 and later. Here it is from the help:

Code:
· The Voicemail Pro is limited to 2 outgoing alarm calls at the same time (subject to voicemail port availability). Any additional alarm calls are delayed until the existing alarm calls have been completed.

AACon, that is because it uses two VM ports at the same time.
So for more wakeup calls you will need a lot more VM ports which increases the amount of wakeup calls.
But these days nobody uses the phone in a hotel room anymore.
Most uses use there own mobile phone for internet, alarms and calling.

BAZINGA!

I'm not insane, my mother had me tested!

You can trim the 5 retries down to 1 minute and ring for 29 sec, that should be enough for 10 wake-up's.

Need more? Throw in a database, and reduce the time options to hours + 5 min increments.
If there's more than one wake-up for a particular time, only one alarm is set.
When triggered, a module collects all extn's registered for that time-stamp and runs a post-dial action for each of them.

Kind regards

Gunnar
