We have an IP office with default announcement on but the customer wants to record their own queue announcement.
The default huntgroup announcement is :
I am afraid all the operators are busy at the moment but please wait and you will be transferred when someone become available.
And on short code we have • *91N; / N".1" / Record Message

When we dial The hunt group extension is 4008 , we used *914008# to record this announcement
We hear announcement that
Your call is answered by Avaya Ip office extension "' silence” is not available” to leave a message wait for the tone after recording press # for more options.

I have tried recording this announcement but it new announcement is not playing when i call the hunt group extension number.
Can i record this hunt group announcement from any extension?. I am sure I am missing out something.

Your Hunt Group has Voicemail enabled, and you reach that because the timer is set shorter for the Voicemail than the announcements.

Also keep in mind that some systems requires that you listen through the recording before saving.

Kind regards

Gunnar

Further to my previous post, we have voicemail pro with a transfer action to hunt group 4008. Please anyone assist why the queue announcement is not playing .

Ok, nice extra info there.

Open your VM Pro Client, go to Specific start point> Groups> Right click your group and enable "Queued"> Go to Queued> Insert and tie a Generic-box to the start point> open it and go to Entry Prompts> Make a recording name and have it record from a phone on the system. Save and make a test call (after you adjusted your Voicemail kick in timer/or disabled Voicemail)..

Kind regards

Gunnar

the short codes for recording announcement only works for embedded voicemail. and as gunnar said, you need to now use the vmpro console.

Enable the announcements in Manager on that group, now they are not played because it is not enabled and you end up in the group VM box.

I took that for granted:) Of course you enabled the announcement, right?

BTW, Smartedge, have you done the VMPro exercise provided by Avaya?
