Hi

I have been trying to divert a ddi number on an index phone system to another external
number. I have tried it via the control plan pointing to a speed dial eg S120. If I dial
the speed dial number internal it rings the external number ok , but when I dial the ddi
number it doesnt seem to look at the speed dial in the disposition and just rings the
switch board.

I also tried just pointing the ddi number straight to the extn - 2056 . It rings the extn
ok - then set the divert all and set the S120 in the divert all other no. If I just dial the
extn 2056 internaly it diverts to the external number ok but again if I dial the ddi number it
just ends up ringing the switchboard.

I havent done alot of prog on the index , but have set up these diverts before and havnt had
any problems. Just looking for any pointers what would be stopping the call coming and dialling
back out. Any info would be appreciated...

Cheers

M

Is this on Alog lines?? If so, you are fighting a losing battle. INDeX won't trunk to trunk on alog lines.

It's ringing switchboard as it can't go to the defined destination.

From the looks of it, the above things should work, but only on ISDN.

Make a string translation of the DDI to a Pilot Number
Create a Pilot number and set the first disposition for day and night ring to the speeddial entry, e.g. S999
Done.

Hi

Cheers for the replies , I know its an ip office forum.

Jamie - it is ISDN30 lines .

Intrigant - Thats the way I set it up. Had say 288995 - Trans 50 , then Trans 50 going to Pilot - 2056 - this then
went to Call control plan 50 - entered the S120 but wont dial out just rings the switchboard.

I went to another site and set it the same as iam doing here and it works no problem. I know the speed dial no works ok
and know iam hitting the correct dispossition as set it to another number just to check. Theres something stopping it dialling
in and back out again. Have been hunting through the manual and checked that trunk type etc is ok.Iam expecting that iam missing
something obvious to do with routing back out , but cant seem to see what it is. Cheers anyway...

No matter it is a IP Office forum, most MPV's here have done INDeX before ( forced ) to switch to IP Office ( as me ).
However, it is a long time ago I have had access to a INDeX but as I can remember of it the Pilotnumber > Speeddial is one route to your goal.
You also can do this in string analysis:
Translation 50
Step 1 replace 228 with 01234
Step 2 replace 955 with 56789

Route 50
Use translation 50 and use trunk group 0 ( or something like that, I'll have to check docs to be sure about the trunk group )

Straing analysis
string 228995 > route 50

then the DDI number 228995 will go straight out to number 0123456789
I can't remember there is a setting for disabling trunk to trunk divert, does it work if you divert a station with a DDI to a Speeddial?

I did try setting via string analysis 288995 - tran 50 - 0123456789 but obviously didnt let me
put in the full number. Never realised you could split it into 2 steps like you mentioned then prog
via string analysis to go to the route first.

I checked the setting for trunk to trunk allow - think its the setting that says forwarding / busy / no ans - set to YES
I thought it was this initialy as I cant get it to divert back out via the handset or the PILOT - CONTROL PLAN - SPEED DIAL..

Thanks for getting back to me . I will try the set up you mentioned , cant see why its not fowarding with usual set up but not working on the equip alot doesnt help lol.. Anyway cheers for that , something to try.

how is your route selecting the line to dial out on?
i suspect it is set to use extn group, in which case change it you use the line group (usually 9 or 90)

What s/w version is this INDeX. Earlier versions didn't like speed dials in CCP. I think it would need to be around 8.1.

But a SXXXX into a divert and calling that DDI should work like a trooper.
