Hello All,

I just saw that Microsoft has relesased Office 365. I do a lot of automation of Excel in my day to day life from FoxPro. Does anyone know if this new version of Office still supports traditional automation? I haven't played with it yet.

Thanks, as always, for all the help this forum has given me over the years.

I also havent had a chance yet, to use or test Office365. It is hosted in the cloud, so it's really a different story.

To quote from thread184-1624630:

...We discussed two product lines that it supersedes. One is the BPOS in the article that Mike linked. The other is Office Live. As I understood what he said, Office 365 is really the next version of BPOS, but it incorporates the Office Live space as well.

Office365 allows integration of the older Office 2010 and 2007 versions with the cloud services, specifically you can still send mail via outlook and it can be connected with Exchange Online and other Office Desktop apps are extended to be able to store their documents in a Sharepoint portal.

This is how far I see it from a german article (
This means the traditional OLE automation is gone or can only be done, if clients have both Office365 and Office2010 or 2007 at hand. On the other side there are new APIs to work with Office in the cloud, see
Bye, Olaf.
