Hi all,

I am connecting 1608 handsets from a site that is linking back to IPO 8.1 in a Data Center.

Data Center:

PBX - 10.0.23.5
Range - 10.0.23.1 /27
Router - 10.0.23.1

Site:

Range - 192.168.123.0 /24
Router - 192.168.123.254

Vlan - 532

IP Phone Setup:

IP - 192.168.123.50 - 99
Call srv - 10.0.23.5
Mask - 255.255.255.0
Router - 10.0.23.1
File Srv - 10.0.23.5
VLAN - 532

I am able to ping from site to data center and im able to connect via Manager but when putting credentials through handset i get 'Subnet Conflict'

The clients IT team are dealing with the link.

I have tried different variants, like changing router to 192.168.123.254 but then i get 'Bad Router'.

Is there anything anyone can suggest?

Thanks

The router needs to be the 192 one for the actual site, If it says bad router then the handsets can't see it :)

Ok, for what reason would the handsets not see the router?

I can't see any reason if its on the same range, strange!!

Is the router also in the correct VLAN though, can it ping one of the handsets? This a network issue :)

Ok, for what reason would the handsets not see the router?

IP Phone 192.168.123.x
Router 10.0.23.1

The reason is these are different subnets. The reason they can't talk is the same as the whole design of subnets!!!

Like Andy says, the router setting in the phone needs to be the 192.168.123.254 router address.

Basic networking.

Really? If they don't see the problem within 10 seconds then they aren't IT capable.

A simple mind delivers great solutions

Indeed, even i get that in a split second :)
This should be a plug and play site when the router and the network is setup right.
All you should do is enter the extension numbers on site and that is about it.
I assume that the IPO is programmed already ofcourse :)

BAZINGA!

I'm not insane, my mother had me tested!

*sigh* I'm definitely not getting paid enough. I think some of us here are too good for what we get :)

Yeah all is programmed correctly on IPO!

Im onsite now and VLAN provided can not route out from router, VLAN 0 can, but can not see the PBX.

3hrs onsite and waiting for a fix!!!
