Well, some can connect to Lync, like the Polycom SoundPoint IP450. They just need a firmware update.

A company called NET has a solution called SmartSIP that will allow you to use pretty much any SIP based phone to talk to Lync. http://www.net.com/Pages/Product.aspx?pgid=229
