Hi,

I was wondering if someone could direct me in the right direction when it comes to differentiating between electronic signatures and digital signatures in opentext.

I am looking for matter on similarities and dissimilarities between the two. Which one is a preferred method for compliance purposes?

Thanks a lot.

I am not sure if there is marketing gimmicks involved but usually what the esign(whatever its name is now) is a complete workflow solution designed to capture requirements of several entities(have you heard things like 21CFR11) .In very layman terms it will put on top of a regular livelink workflow a new module called esign,it will make you install adlib and some other things. Then the new livelink workflow palette will have many new things that will help in the requirements of a "electronic signature" system which is proving to authorities how you would conduct your business as if people walked the bunch of paper form person to person wet stamp the whole thing time and gain, create revisions etc.
In computer science terminolgy(not OT marketing terminology) "Digital Signatures" are part of "cryptography" that is what I think.Mostly if you google for private/public key stuff you will find "digital signatures" are that.Once again I apologize as I do not know if digital signatures and electronic signatures when referring to it in OT parlance is the same.Your ot sales/marketing rep may be able to send you tech specs on either one.

Well, if I called the wrong number, why did you answer the phone?
