Hi all,

I am about to implement a full backup/restore strategy for our Opentext Landscape.

Could anyone provide me information of what should I include in the backup strategy in order to have a full restore of the system in case of an eventuality.

what are you using for storage, DB / EFS / Archive Server ? which DB are you using ? do you need to back up your indexes / search as well ? what are you SLAs ? do you have a DR site / system ?

Hi Greg,

In our landscape we have a Content Server, Database Server, Admin Server and Archive Server.

Our Database manages is Microsoft SQL Server 2008 - 10.0.2531.

If I don't back up the indexes, after the restore, I need to do a reindex? Would you consider that is absolutely necessary to back up the indexes?

Right now we don't have a formal SLA, but we need to make sure that we could restore the system ASAP.

I was reading the OpenText Archive Server Administration Guide https://knowledge.opentext.com/knowledge/piroot/ar...

And there is detailed back up information but this is for vesion 10, is it also valid for version 9.7.1?

Hope to hear from you shortly.

Orlando, you seem to be having a few issues at present judging by the number of posts, it may be better to get a firm in to do a review / tuning exercise for you as they should be able to solve your performance issues and help setup your DR etc.

Forum can help shape responses and recommend people too

Hi Greg,

We are trying to do task as we can with our team, that's why I am trying to reach all the information that I could get by this option.

We are planning to get a firm for many of this issues but we want to get as closed as we can in order to get the help that we need.

If you could provide me some information it will be really helpful.

Regards,

Orlando Covault
