This only happened when I restored my micros database to a previous version and now the course line i had to split up the order for the kitchen, it now appears at the top when it prints rather than in the middle where it shows up when i input in the POS screen. is there a way to fix it? I'm thinking it's printing everything in alphabetical order rather than the input order, how can i check? Thanks.

Oops, well i just tested another copy and the dishes printed in the input order but the course line appeared on the top again rather than in the middle.

I beleive that if the course line is a menu item vs a condiment; menu item grouping will determine where it prints on an order but if the course line is a condiment then the course line will appear right after the previous menu item ordered which would put it where you want it.

Thanks. I sent print class to course line and menu item class as a food item. It seems to be in the correct place 90% of the time, just an occasional 10% when the line is moved due to other mods/messaged in orders. Any idea why"?

It's kind of tough to troubleshoot without knowing the setup you have going on but my guess is that it's going to be something in your menu item classes.

Where each item prints is determined by it's print class, but the position on the kitchen chit is determined by the print group assigned to it's menu item class. Items with the lowest print group will print first, in the order they're entered, then the next highest, etc... My setup is usually Apps class = print group 2, Course Line class = pg 5, Entree class = pg8. This just gives space for interim courses and grouping specialty items.

If the course line is a menu item mods/messages on other items shouldn't have any effect on it unless the class for the mods/message is set to override the parent's print group. The best thing you can do is save the chits that are printing incorrectly and look up the items in the configurator. Something is going to have a menu item class that's causing it to jump below the course line.

Take a backup before you start playing with the classes though, and don't do it during service. One change in a menu item class can affect tons of menu items, and if it isn't the correct change you can really bang things up.
