In our old Octel v-mail system, the message light would stay on until you either saved or deleted a message. In Call Pilot, the messages are treated as saved and the light goes out once they're listened to.

Is there any way to keep that light on as long as there are messsages in the inbox?

Call Pilot classifies messages as either new or saved(listened to). The light is only on when the mailbox has a new message. If the message has been listened to and not deleted, then its consitered saved. The mailbox class of service defines how long the saved messages will be retained. You can change a few things with the type of "new" message lights up the phone but thats about it.

Hope this helps...

captnamo - What is it you are trying to accomplish? There may be other ways such as message forwarding.

Thanks all for the speedy replies. User just liked and was use to the feature in Octel where the lamp stayed lit for listened-to messages until they chose to either save or delete them. So, you could listen to a message and the lamp would remain lit reminding you that you still had v-mail to deal with. I expect the user will live with things the way they are in the call pilot.

However, giving her an option to press a key to light the lamp as a reminder that she has a listened-to v-mail yet to deal with might be an option. I'll also mention an option to forward such messages to another mailbox with her PDN and the Msg. Wait DN.

Thanks, again.
