Approx 5mm of the long edges of image are remaining on drum.Replaced maintenance roller no change. Fitted NEW maintenance tray as old tray lifting pins were worn.Machine attempted to print but locked down with error 07 004 46 which is a tray sensor not reached error. Refitted old tray and machine printed but ink again sticking to drum along edge. Why is machine rejecting the new tray? could the maintenance clutch have a problem with new tray but work OK with older tray.I thought I could solve this one....can anyone help?

You should be working directly with Tektronix Support on this one. There is very likely a list of parts that should be replaced on a number of pages printed basis, and likely some have been skipped.

Thank you for your suggestion, further research has revealed that maintenance clutches retain a memory. So if the error suggests the maintenance tray is involved replacement of the tray is not enough, a new clutch and new cam lifters should be fitted at the same time. Am awaiting these parts so we will see.

That makes sense - if two mechanical parts wear together, when replacing one, it's good to replace the other. A bit like disc brakes - when you replace the pads, best to replace the discs, or at least resurface them....
