DECT R4 phone stuck at "Enter New Login"

Newly installed DECT R4 system with three 3725 phones, all phones were working yesterday and after I change the extension number and name on one phone, the one phone is unusable. It still shows registered and when I go off-hook I can see it in SSA, but unable to dial internal or external, can't break dial tone. Deleted the extension and user, re-registered and same issue. Phone LCD shows "Enter New Login" but I'm unable to break dial tone to login with *35* code. Rebooted base station and phone but same issue. Replaced the phone with a new one out of the box and it registers but shows "Enter New Login" in the LCD and can't break dial tone.

The other two phones are working fine.

Anyone had this issue before?

So the extension is both in the master base station and in the IPO?
Did you try deleting it on both and reboot the IPO and master base station?

I couldn't figure out how to delete it on the base station. I can see it in "users" but there is no delete option that I could find. That's why I tried the new handset. Did I miss the option?

You need to open the user, then you can delete it.

Actually I forgot a step which was to accept the extension number. From the KB:

If the phone display Enter New Login, it has been assigned a temporary extension number, shown in brackets. The temporary number is simply the highest existing extension number plus 1.
• To accept the temporary extension number as permanent, dial *# and make the call.
• To specify a different extension number, dial XXX*LLL# where XXX is the extension number to use and LLL is the Login Code to assign to the user.
• To accept the temporary extension as permanent but set a login code for the user, dial *LLL# where LLL is the Login Code to assign to the user.

That won't work because the ipei number already exists.

Well we replaced a handset so there is a new ipei and the tech on site got it working by accepting the new extension number. Thanks for your help on deleting the ipei though, I'll make a note of that.
