It's been YEARS since I've configured a COT on a key of a digital phone set, but I know it can be done via "Private Line". Can someone please refresh my memory on how this is done?

You have to build the route as private, build the trunk and then add the PVR key on the phone

In the route set PRIV to yes
In the trunk at the PRDN prompt make up an unused dn
On the key of the phone assign it key pvr and the dn you assigned in the trunk

Thanks for the quick response KCFLHRC. It's STARTING to come back to me..lol. Since we are on an earlier release, my route needs to be built as RT 31. This route has already been previously built with a trunk that doesn't appear to have dial tone or service (I'm taking over previous work). I don't want to remove this old trunk..yet, so can't I just build another trunk that's also in RT 31 and it be entirely separate from the existing one? Also, would the TN of the new trunk be the TN for the phone set?

KCFLHRC, I believe I have responded before seeing your second post and think I can figure it out from there. Thanks

You can build another trunk into the same route. Make the PRDN different on the trunk and assign it to the phone. Your trunk TN and Phone TN will obviously not be the same.

One more question. Can the PVR extension be programmed on multiple phones?

It can be on multiple phones, you can also use PVN for non ringing.

KCFLHRC (of anyone else who knows),

Can you please review how a private line is cross connected on the main distribution frame? To include the Station TN, House Pair, RJ21X (where dial tone for line) and Trunk TN (if needed)? This line is going on a digital set (3903).

Thank you!

Cross connect the station TN as you always would from the DLC. Cross Connect the dial tone from your B1 line to your universal trunk card.

Also remember when cross connecting COT's they skip every other pair.
