CS1000E PRI TIE signaling question...QSIG or NI-2

Crowtalks (TechnicalUser)

I have recently built a PRI TIE between my CS1000E 5.5 and an Asterix system that is working fine. The customer is requesting I change the signaling from QSIG (ISIG) to NI-2 because that is what they use in other areas and they are striving for uniformity.

I attempted to change the signaling from ISIG to NI-2 but I received a sorry charlie stating the following msg: the configuration cannot be saved, ISA does not support NI-2.

The NTPs show NI-2 is an option for TKTP TIE.

Where is the conflict?

Thanks, Jim

You need to change the TKTP in the RDB

What other trunk type would be recommended for a tie circuit between switches?

In other words, it would appear you have ISAR=YES, or you have ISA specified somewhere in the route or DCH.

I don't remember...I'll have to look. What is the reason or purpose of ISAR?

Thanks

When you make this change, you will have to disable the circuit. The change will have to be done on both ends of course, then under the gate opener ISDN (YES) you will have to change IFC to NI-2.
Other things you will have to do though is to delete all channels, delete the DCH, then rebuild it as NI-2
so - after printing everything out:
delete channels
delete DCH
delete route

rebuild route as NI-2
rebuild dch as NI-2
rebuild channels

OK, I blew out the route, trunks and DCH and rebuilt the route as TIE/NI-2 and got this error msg: SCH520 NI-2 basic only supports COT/DID route when CBCR=no and IFC=NI2

I looked online and found this Avaya MPLR21073 that states when you get that error, there is a plugin 205 for CS1000E 5.5 or higher that addresses that. My system is 5.5 that is fully patched...what are the plugins?
