Call waiting feature is new to me. I've set up Key 3 as CWT and modified CLS to SWA (allow internal call waiting) and WTA (allow warning tone).

The key appears on the display, but I get no warning tone when an internal call comes in when set is busy (on an internal or external call) as caller goes right to voicemail.

We'd like the caller to go to voicemail if the user doesn't pick up the waiting call. Do I have to do something different with HUNT which is currently set to go to voicemail? Here's the TNB:

change the call forward by type CFTA to CFTD--and then remove the hunt---HTD

If I remove the hunt DN, what happens to a call waiting call that isn't answered? No voicemail?

You can put the hunting back but change the WTA to WTD so that the CWT key will ring and user won't get a camp on tone.

ERR SCH5053 CPTA must have WTA class of service.

with hunt removed the set will be alerted by the call waiting key that a call is present--they can then either put the origianl call on hold and press the CWT to answer---or let the follow the FDN to 4170.

make sure that the CDB is set for opt CWRA (cfna treatment for call waiting calls on a DN allowed)

DOH! Of course the unanswered second call will still go to voicemail as I've only taken away the HUNT not the FDN. DOH!

So, in summary, I added key CWT (Call Waiting), changed CLS (class of service) by (1) changing HTA to HTD (HUNT denied); (2) adding SWA (internal call wait allowed); and (3) adding WTA (call wait tone allowed).

So, now user gets short beep tones on the phone when a second call comes in on her M3902. She successfully put the first call on hold and pressed the CWT key to pick up the second call. Ended the second call and picked up the first call that had been on hold.

Great solution for a Mental Health Clinician to get notice that an appointment has arrived even though she's on the phone. Thanks everyone for your help on this! Tek-Tips Nortel members ROCK!
