Hi Guys,
I have an issue with one of our systems, Its a IPO 500V2 on V7.0.32.

Calls from ddi on isdn30 pointing to a Sip extn set up T38 for fax use. Then pointing to a virtual brooktrout modem on a Equisys Fax Server.

I can send fax's from anywhere on the network but incoming fails.

The fax software supplier says that there diagnostics show that,
"The the Avaya system is presenting the call without support for T.38. When the call is established in G.711, the two ends are unable to talk as data goes one way only. Please check the Avaya configuration to make sure that is has been configured to Dialogics specifications."

When looking at the trace in monitor and system status it seems to show the T38 is the protocal but it just wont connect.

It used to work on V5.0.26

Any ideas?

Regards Skippy

Say your fax ports are 8880-8889

Create a SC.
Code: 888N
Feat: Dial Fax
888N"@X.X.X.X"

Now point the ICR to the shortcode.

Yes, but create a SC like

Create a SC.
Code: 711
Feat: Dial Fax
711@X.X.X.X (X.X.X.X = your ip addr of your Fax server)

Hi Bas1234,
I tried that short code but it didn't work. In system status i can see it hitting the fax extn 711 but when the fax report come back it had failed.

I also got an error message from Manager saying that the SC 711 conflicts with User711.

Cheers Gary

Forget that SC. Thought you had i connected over a SIP trunk, than that SC won't work.

Is RE-INVITE selected on the extension?
Did you select T.38 (Fax Transport Support) on the extension>Voip tab?

It should work like that.

You can try to turn off the "Use Default Values"
And play with T38 fax version. default is 3 And try to play with ECM (error correction mode) on/off on both ends.
