Have a client here in the USA with an office in the UK. Can I buy a standard IP500V2 with PRI Card and ATM4 Trunk cards in the USA and take it to the UK and install it? If so what are the changes I need to make to the system and or trunk cards? If not, what are the other options? Thanks in advance...

UK ISDN cards are different, we get 30 channels versus the 24 you guys get, also we use Alaw here in UK you guys use Ulaw which means a different SD card too. Not sure about the analogue card but I don't suppose it matters smile

The alternative would be to use a UK based BP to source and install the system and then you maintain it remotely, possibly with a per visit arrangement for emergency on site needs etc smile

I supposedly can set the IP500 UNIVERSAL PRI Card to E1 and I can change the System Settings to ALAW so it should work I would think. Any other thoughts?

If you can buy a A-law sd card then you'll be fine

If it ain't dutch it ain't much

As Intrigrant says, as long as you have the ALAW sd card in it you should be fine as the PRI card is the same no matter which country you buy it for.

Yeah, I suppose it is, perhaps the word "universal" is the clue smile

Indeed but US BP's cannot buy an Alaw SD card.
So contact a UK BP here and make a deal or whatever is needed.

BAZINGA!

Can anyone recommend a UK BP? I know I can blindly pick and choose from the locator, but word of mouth recommendations are always nice :)

Your best bet is to work with a local BP, we live next to the border between the US and Mexico and every once in a while customers will ship their equipment across to Mexico, since we cannot purchase E1 or E1R2 licenses for the universal PRI here in the US (I still cannot understand why not, we live in a global economy now, you are another perfect example of this) we always contact BP's in Mexico to purchase these licenses.
You can always pre-configure the equipment by creating an offline configuration, start by selecting the country where the box will reside, manager will load all the neat and odd options appropriate for that location, strange an odd only for us that live in the US of course. smile
