Is there a way have a DID that rings to a group, have a different ring tone? This is for a backline that Doctors call to get staff on the phone.

Thanks,
Chaz

I may try to make the DID ring a hunt group, and then give a button for that group on the Operators phones in hopes that it will at least flash when a call is made.

Can you make an appearance for a hunt group like you can a user?

What I am hearing is that the front office staff wants to be able to ignore calls from patients and would like to rely on a special ring to tell them that the doctor is calling. Based on that level of laziness and neglect I wouldn't spend much time on the solution as they won't likely have any patients soon.

I think it is more that the Doctors insist that the Agents in the CCR Groups answer their call instead of waiting. On the Comdial system, you can specify a different ringtone per DID entry.

Oh trust me I know why they do it. And I think about every single doctors office I've ever worked with has this same type of back door line.

I was more pointing out the fact that if the front office answered every call as quickly as possible then there wouldn't be a need for a special ring.

I had a similar situation in a medical practice where they required a distinct ring for when the staff called in sick.
I set up a tone ringer under the receptionist's counter and used a spare analog station port. I then gave the phones a call pick up key for that station.
I could've put it on a button as a group but because they are so busy it had to be audible rather than visual. The ring is totally different from the phones.

Nice idea there. I may try that. Or like Kyle said, they should not be picking and choosing what calls are more important to answer. Answer the damn phone, but if they insist, we can try that.
Thanks
Chaz
