No Caller ID inbound from Cisco SPA112 ATA

Hi All!

So I've got my lab set up and all the phones configured and I'm looking to add some analog lines to it. In my case the cheapest way is to add analog trunks via an ATA (registered with Voip.MS) and then have the analog ports on the ATA connect to the analog ports of my SG60/12 (direct SIP isn't an option either since I have no licenses for SIP trunking, nor do I have access to an ingate).

So the setup is like this:

Voip.ms <---> Cisco SPA112 <---> SG60/12 Analog Port

As far as calls are concerned everything is fine, I get two way audio, in and outbound calls work fine and the quality is pretty good too. The main issue is that inbound calls show up with "Caller ID Unknown" -- now this is odd because I have a few other SIP devices registered with Voip.MS and I have no issues with CID. The ATA is a remote site so I'm unable to test it with a regular analog phone for CID yet but I was wondering if anyone has seen this issue before?

Also -- the SPA112 has been upgraded to the latest firmware that "supposedly" has the caller id issues fixed. Has anyone tried using the slightly older (but far less buggy) PAP2T for the same purpose on a shortel system, are there some FXS port settings on the ATA that I'm overlooking? Does anyone know the any specifics about what kind of Caller ID ShoreTel expects on its analog ports aside from just that it wants FSK CID info.

Thanks in advance!

Connect an old style Caller-ID box to the ATA and call in to the line. If this box doesn't show the caller-ID, then nothing will. To fix this you need to insure you're allowing caller-ID on the analog port coming off of the Cisco SPA112. I believe by default this option is disabled.

Read this thread: https://supportforums.cisco.com/thread/2121676 it clearly shows issues with the SPA112. You may need to insure you have the latest firmware. If you do, then call CISCO and get the latest BETA.
