I am trying to connect a 12 button DSS module to a 10 button 8040L i.p. telephone on a LIK50A. I must be missing something because I have serial DSS allowed in Pgm 111 for stn 103. I am using web admin and in Pgm 110 when I choose DSSDLS1 (map1) for station 103 and enter the associated station number of 103 and click save nothing is saved. The same thing happens when I try using phone admin to program this. Any guidance with this would be greatly appreciated.

What type of DSS are you having problems with?
LG-Ericsson LIP-12LSS 12 Button DSS LCD (LIP-12LSS )?
or
LG-Ericsson LIP-40LSS 40 Button DSS LCD (LIP-40LSS )?

To my knowledge, this should work.

Do you get any error messages? Do you install this DSS on the attendant? Did you try this on other station numbers?

Hi doktor,

No I haven't tried it on any other telephones but I will give it a try. LG tech support says the 12 button LSS does not use or take a station number and it does not need to be associated with a phone.

when you connect the 12 button LSS you should have the buttons 49 to 96 in flex button programming of the connected station.

I discovered that it works on a brand new 8012E set but not on my 8040L or 8012D.
Must be a firmware issue with the 'D' type sets.....maybe a bad bunch from LG-Ericsson. You were right xs650. The programming does start at flex button 49 on the 12 button LSS.
