Hi

I recently did an upgrade from R5 to R8.0.43. On one of the handsets a small "n" and a small "o" has appeared. Has anyone seen this before? if so what do they mean?

Thanks

Did the handsets pick up the correct new firmware?

There has been issues reported which do show small letters on the screen.
The letter Monty is talking about are capital letters.

So do you have capital letters or small letters?

Then it is a bug.
Only a reboot of the phone solves it for now.

Hi

Ive had a look on 8.1 at the fixed issues and there doesn't seem to be a mention of this issue being fixed.

Customer is getting frustrated every couple days of rebooting the phones to get rid of all the small letters that appear on the phone. I want to upgrade to 8.1 but I need to know that before I do upgrade it will fix the problem.

Any help would be good

Did you raise a case for the small letters?
If you did not then don't complain smile
When nobody raises a case then it won't be fixed.
When you did raise a case then ask Avaya if it is fixed or not.

I have a case with Avaya on this problem, in my case it only happens with 5610 and 5620 handsets.

I have seen it on 5610 and 5620,& 5621. When I looked into it, it appeared to be part of the name field left over on top for incoming calls and the screen would leave the last letter on the screen. Reboot the phone and it's cleared, until your very next call. It's like the screen don't completely refresh that line after every call.
